A Persuasive essay is a piece of writing that takes a stand on a controversial issue or an argumentative topic and convinces the reader that this stand is better than any other stand. Just keep it in mind that, if you are set on the journey to write a persuasive essay then it doesn’t mean that you have to select a burning issue. Any debatable cause will do.
Though this will not be counted among the paragraphs, but the title must be catchy and interesting enough to hook the reader’s attention from the first line. Do remember in mind that this title shouldn’t be bold, underlined or italicized.
The intro paragraph must be brief, attractive and also an amalgamation of many parts. Firstly, in 3-5 sentences define clearly what is the argument of the article. Then in 1-2 sentences, show an example or a quote related to the topic. After that, you need to complete the thesis statement by expressing your stand on the topic within 1 sentence. Lastly, select three arguments and write them down here briefly to give an outline to the reader. Each argument must be within 1-3 sentences.
Take reference from the introduction part of your article and re-write the first argument again here with elaboration. Then support it with suitable examples. Next step would be to write a transitional sentence so that shifting to paragraph 2 would be smooth. The whole paragraph must be completed within 5-8 sentences.
What you have done in the paragraph 1, you will again repeat the same procedure here also. That’s re-visiting the intro paragraph, picking up argument-2, re-enforcing it with suitable examples and writing it down with transitional sentence. The whole paragraph must be wrapped around within 5-8 sentences.
This is also the repetition of the above two steps and with the same number of sentences.
This part includes summarizing your three arguments as well as thesis statements with different words. The closing sentence must contain your opinion. This paragraph should be done away with 3-5 sentences.
